Intro to Dance Modern ages 5-8 45 min
This basic beginner class introduces students to modern dance through
improvisation, technique and creating dances.
Attire: Leotard, jazz pants or tights and jazz or ballet shoes. Performance opportunities: Returning students
may audition to perform in the Delray Arts on the Avenue celebration (10/11). All students participate in the
end of year recital.
Modern Jazz ages 8+ 1hr
This combination dance class teaches the fundamentals of both jazz and modern
dance. It is designed to introduce students to modern dance technique while also
providing a broader avenue of expression through the addition of jazz dance
styles.

Jazz I/II ages 10+ 1 hour
Pre requisite for students age 10 or younger is Modern Jazz I or 3+ years dance training in
modern, jazz, or ballet
The fundamentals of Jazz dance plus essential ballet basics form the foundation
of this advance beginner Jazz class. Students will review and improve Jazz dance
essentials and quickly move on to advance beginner warm-up, isolations, turns
and jumps. Technique and choreography centers on Broadway and
Modern(Horton) style Jazz Dance as well as beginning hip hop, musical theatre,
and music video jazz dance styles.
Attire: Leotard, jazz pants or tights and jazz shoes. Performance opportunities: Returning students may
audition to perform in the Delray Arts on the Avenue celebration 10/11. All students participate in the end of
year recital.
Adult/Teen Jazz Advanced 1hour 15mins
Pre requisite for this class is Jazz I/II or Adult Jazz Beginner or equivalent experience w/ instructor approval.
Advance Jazz technique plus level two ballet essentials form the foundation of this
advance Jazz class. The class is designed to reinforce and improve advance jazz
fundamentals and quickly move on to a secondary Jazz dance curriculum that
challenges students to improve technique, build strength, and increase flexibility.
Focused attention is given to developing musicality and performance skills while
mastering Broadway and Modern/ Horton Jazz dance styles as well as hip hop,
musical theatre, and music video jazz dance choreography.
