Creative Movement  ages 3-5

This class introduces children to the world of dance in fun and creative
ways. Using age appropriate lessons to encourage dance as a form of
self-expression and fun physical fitness, young children strengthen motor
skills, improve coordination, enhance socialization skills and empower the
imagination through dance!
Included in the Creative Movement curriculum are lessons and movement
exercises that model and teach pre primary ballet skills.  Children explore
dance through storytelling, arts and crafts, and the use of a variety of
props and costumes.
The goal of Creative Movement classes is to promote the natural
musicality developing in each child. Tiny dancers will enjoy dancing to
familiar ballet classics and favorite nursery rhymes as well as exploring
the rhythmic variations of children's dance music from throughout the
globe!
Creative Movement students participate in a Class Demonstration
Performance at the end of both the Fall and Winter/Spring semesters.
(Note: Children must be 3.5 by the start date of the class. Young threes may register for

By introducing students to fundamental ballet vocabulary and pre
primary movement exercises, this class explores ballet as creative fun
and sound physical fitness.
Children are encouraged to achieve at their own pace as they discover
the basic building blocks of dance – from skips and marches to group
dances that focus on cooperation, sequencing and patterns. Center
floor exercises challenge students to use their imagination in dances
that improve body awareness, encourage freedom of movement, and
promote teamwork through dance.
Craft projects and coloring pages that explain and reinforce the art of
dance plus a variety of props and costumes are often used as learning
aides. Students participate in a Class Demonstration Performance at the
end of both the Fall and Winter/Spring semesters.
