Session I: Fairytale Ballets -- Sleeping Beauty, Petruska, Cinderella
July 13-17 9:30-12:30 ages 5-7 Students should bring a snack each day. Tuition: $170.00
Classes in ballet technique plus age appropriate choreography from these classic ballets are the focus of this week long dance arts
workshop. Attire: Leotard, footless tights, ballet shoes.
Daily schedule:
9:30-10:30 Ballet class
10:30-11:00 Dance History & (Snack time): A fun look at the stories behind the ballets Sleeping Beauty, Petruska, or Cinderella using a
variety of media from books to videos to movies.
11:00-11:45 Dance arts and crafts -- children learn to create a variety of dance related art and craft projects
11:45-12:30 Students learn choreography from each ballet; choose/create costumes and perform on the last day of class for our Creative
Movement students.
Session II:Broadway Musicals -- The King & I, The Sound of Music
August 3-7 9:30am-12:30 ages 6-9 Students should bring a snack each day. Tuition: $170.00
Musical theatre dance and performance are the focus of this workshop which develops skills in ballet, TAP and jazz dance -- plus the art of
presentation and auditioning. Attire: Leotard, footless tights, ballet or jazz shoes and TAP shoes.(The Ballet Studio has some tap shoes
students can borrow-- sizes available vary)

Students will study the dance styles that make these three big screen musicals a hit with dancers young and old! This workshop develops
basic skills in ballet, TAP and jazz dance -- plus the art of presentation and auditioning. Attire: Leotard, footless tights, ballet or jazz shoes
